Flower Fashion Textures 1

ARKIVIA BOOK FLOWER FASHION TEXTURES 1

The floral style from classic to new romantic or "classic nouveau".

Over the last 50 years, from my adolescence in the 60s to today, I have witnessed different visions of the floral decorative idea (pop, hippie, liberty).

Different styles often made to marry a modernity as a need to be current or otherwise the reinforcement of an idea of elegance that probably never existed in this way.

This idea of new and classic together resulted in an evolved romantic style at the end of the 1980s: large and small flowers that, although figurative, were treated with a touch of fresh modernity in pastel or autumnal colors. A more synthetic handwriting, not pictorial but graphic, mixing the flowers with Provencal decorations, country or striped geometries with a more urban feeling.

From furniture to accessories, the years at the turn of the 90s witnessed this romantic look of which one of the greatest expressions was the English designer Laura Ashley with her single-brand stores, very refined and multipurpose: from wallpapers to furnishing accessories , from fabrics to timeless clothing.

Currently there is a return to these decorations that with ups and downs have never abandoned us in the last 20 years.

This book tries to communicate this decorative style by combining flowers, stripes, checks and Provencal geometries. It contains 60 double pages and each of them offers a modular set of textures with a single palette of similar and coordinated colors, flowers and graphics.

Furthermore, a considerable effort has been made in designing everything in vector and in spot colors, in order to offer maximum use of quality, usability and customization.

I wish I had a book like this every time I have developed collections of accessories for a young and female target. Now it is possible for all those who want to share this creativity.
